| ST. WILLIAM HAUNTED HOUSE:
A funeral wake containing a sudden casket surprise welcomes
visitors into the St. William Haunted House, where a frightening
ghoul plays loud, spooky music on an antique pipe organ as guests ascend
a mysterious looking staircase. A violent thunderstorm rages just
outside as the course subjects visitors to a rabid dog attack, then a startling
encounter with an enormous, venom spewing snake. Coffins shake and
vibrate on their own and a mummy springs to life as progression continues
into a worn out elevator. The old rattletrap runs just as unreliably
as it appears, as it descends downward into a bottomless pit. Reaching
our destination leads into a dimly lit passage, where the sudden illumination
of a glass panel reveals a previously hidden girl who begins relentlessly
pounding on the transparent barricade, and desperately screaming for help.
Rounding the bend brings about a face to face confrontation with an evil
minded physician, then a variety of surprises accompanied by deafening
buzzers and ear-piercing horns. Darkened corridors conceal witches
behind secret drop-down panels, and arms that project through portraits
and reach right out into the hallway! Body bags; deadly sparks; unnerving
music; and maniacal clowns deliver you into a blood-red, siren sounding
claustrophobic path, and across a rickety wooden bridge that exits into
a frightening cemetery, and unleashes a merciless chainsaw chase-out of

Analysis:
LENGTH - 6, 7 minutes.
ACTORS - 7, Good costumes and make-up, but dialogue is
weak, and some spooks just stood there without trying to scare anyone.
Girl behind the glass panel gave the best performance of the night.
Need to energize remainder of the cast in order to elevate the score.
Total Characters = 26.
SCARINESS - 7½, Fantastic mood music and sounds
compliment the adventure. Startles are well hidden, and often unexpected.
Better acting would deliver intensified scares.
DESIGN - 8, Traditional decor and lots of surprises.
Funeral wake is an intimidating beginning that sets the stage for the remainder
of the Haunted House. Course's short duration is a limiting
factor.
PROPS - 8, Vibrating coffin, elevator, sparks, and bottomless
pits are most memorable.
VALUE - 10, Cost of admission is only $5!
